This pin is a facsimile of a beautiful South American butterfly specimen (Callithea sapphira) caught by Alfred Russel Wallace, the intrepid Victorian explorer. The specimen, housed since its capture (in 1850) in the collections of London's Natural History Museum is on display in the Voyages of Discovery exhibit at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

Finish: brass, silver plated, with applied color and sealed with a non-tarnish finish : Dimensions: 2.14" W x 1.23" L
