In July 1960, when JFK won the Democratic Nomination for President, he had realized what an irreplaceable asset Jackie had been. Even though pregnant with their second child, she spent a lot of time on the campaign trail, bringing larger crowds than he could have on his own. Even when Jackie could not appear, some in the crowd would yell good-naturedly, "Where's Jackie?." The bracelet was made of mesh, a design Jackie preferred as it allowed her skin to breathe, and the center with pave set diamonds. At the same time he presented her with a similar bracelet set with amethysts, one of her favorite stones. Jackie would wear the two bracelets stacked, or separately.
