Product Description
The Smithsonian American Art Museum is home to the largest collection of American art in the world. This delightful cat jewelry is based upon Elegance, a stone sculpture created by Heinz Warneke in 1927. Born in Germany in 1895, Warneke immigrated to the United States in 1923, first working as a commercial sculptor and portraitist, and then exclusively producing his own work, specializing in simplified representations of animals.
