The largest complete sharks tooth ever found measures over 7". The largest Shark, the Whale Shark, grows up to 46 feet, weighing up to 30,000 pounds. It is estimated that a single shark loses up to 10,000 teeth in its lifespan. Shark skeletons are composed of cartilage instead of bone, that's why the shark's teeth are the only parts found Fossilized. Fossil Shark teeth date from the Eocene to Cretaceous 40 to 110 million year ago.
